ASSESSMENT OF THE CONTRIBUTION OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN THE ECONOMY OF TURKESTAN REGION

Abstract

Nowadays, entrepreneurship is the main factor of economic development of all developed countries. The share
of SMEs in the country’s economy, in particular, in total employment, value added, investment, taxes, exports and loans, has reached a significant level. When we look at the current economies of countries in the world, almost 95-99% of enterprises consist of SMEs, 40-80% of employment, 30-70% of GNP, 30-60% of investments, 10-40% of exports. It is clearly determined that 100% of these products are carried out by SMEs. With these features, SMEs form the backbone of the economic and social order. The purpose of this article is to assess the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the economy of Turkestan region.
First of all, the article revealed the economic significance of small and medium-sized business and determined its role in the economy of Turkestan region (its share in the total regional product, employment). As a result of the research, the peculiarities of the functioning of small and medium-sized businesses in the Turkestan region were studied and analyzed. During the analysis of the current situation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Turkestan region, the method of information
gathering and the method of partial abstraction were used to effectively search, group, process and generalize the necessary material. Studying the dynamics of economic indicators using the comparative method allows establishing causal relationships.
